This is the perfect book to celebrate Maine’s 201st birthday! What would you wish for? That’s the question a thoughtful chickadee named Dirigo asks his friends who have traveled from all over Maine’s woods\, waterways and wilderness to celebrate his birthday. Gathered around the dandelion birthday candle\, each animal offers Dirigo a special wish as they take turns telling stories about their own Maine birthdays. How to Catch a Keeper! will give kids in grades 2-3 a Maine lobster boat experience\, and follows the adventures of Luke and Layla as they take a trip to the Maine coast and explore its many ways to play. This story is really a Maine celebration in disguise\, as their father outlines the biking\, hiking\, museum\, and lighthouse viewing opportunities before the family settles on taking the Lucky Catch boat tour. SUMMARY:Third Annual Village Toy Funatic  LEGO BUILD-OFF!
DESCRIPTION:It is going to be bigger and better than ever with more prizes donated by LEGO and two new age divisions. \nYou asked for it…and we listened! We are adding 2 new categories…14-18 and an Adult division. We know that LEGO is not just for kids…BIG kids love it too! So here is your chance to show us what you’ve got! This is now a family event! \nWe will also be accepting virtual entries. If you cannot bring your masterpiece to the store\, you can now enter our LEGO Build-Off by sending us a picture.  We will post those on our social media pages as well as include them in our front windows. \nUse your imagination to build a LEGO creation and compete with other master builders to win this year’s LEGO Build-Off! Beat the winter/Covid blues and join in the fun! The Build-Off is a great way to get your kiddos to use their wonderful imagination to create a unique LEGO masterpiece!  Use your personal LEGO collection to build a vision from an experience\, a favorite location\, a scene from a book\, a super cool vehicle\, a colorful building\, a crazy flying machine\, or your favorite animal! The possibilities are limitless!   Once complete\, bring it into the store and enter   into our LEGO Build-Off. (no official LEGO sets can be used) All Entries will be displayed in our front windows on Main Street in Ogunquit. Not to worry\, all masterpieces will be returned to the master builder! \nPRIZES: This year\, LEGO has graciously donated amazing prizes. There will 3 winners in each category. \nHere are the VTF LEGO Build-Off Official Rules! \n~The Challenge begins January 29-February 27. So let the building begin! Winners will be announced on February 28th. Voting will be done at the store by our customers and our team of Toy Experts. \n~Age Categories:  Ages 3-5 Ages 6-8 Ages 9-13\, Ages 14-18 and Adult \n~Maximum size of each entry is 18” wide X 18” Deep X 18” High. When your masterpiece is complete\, simply drop it off at the store between January 29-February 27.   (Please remember we are only open Friday-Sundays until February vacation week when we will be open every day\, so make your plans accordingly!)
