The Village Toy Funatic is thrilled to partner with the Ogunquit Library to host a very special storytime and book signing with the one and only R.W. Alley—acclaimed author, illustrator, and the beloved artist behind the Paddington Bear books.Join us at the beautiful Ogunquit Library, one of Maine’s most charming coastal libraries, for a fun-filled family event featuring a live reading of R.W.’s newest picture book, Construction Crews Build Big!, an interactive drawing demonstration where you’ll see how his illustrations come to life, and a book signing following the program.
This is a wonderful opportunity for young readers, aspiring artists, Paddington fans, and families to meet an award-winning creator whose books have delighted children for generations.

A little history about the Paddington Series……On October 13, 1958, Michael Bond published the first book about our favorite bear, A Bear Called Paddington. The novel was inspired by a stuffed bear Bond rescued from a department store shelf on Christmas Eve, and it took all of ten days to write. RW Alley has been been drawing Paddington since 1997. Today, Paddington boasts an international following with some 70 titles translated into 30 languages, with 30 million copies sold.

The busy animals of Breezy Valley are back—this time helping build a brand-new town library! From preparing the site and pouring the foundation to framing, wiring, painting, and finishing touches, young readers get an exciting, behind-the-scenes look at how a building comes together.
Filled with trucks, tools, hardworking crews, detailed illustrations, and fascinating facts, Construction Crews Build Big! is perfect for children ages 3–6 and anyone fascinated by construction.
